The Rams will look to stay unbeaten on Sunday when they face the San Francisco 49ers in the final game of a three-game road swing. And it's little surprise that the Rams are the unanimous top team in the Womens Brandin Cooks Jersey latest AP Pro32 poll for the fourth consecutive week. They received all 12 first-place votes and 384 points in balloting Tuesday by media members who regularly cover the NFL."Todd Gurley has staked an early claim in this year's MVP race," Newsday said Bob Glauber. "With 208 rushing yards and two touchdowns, he kept the Rams unbeaten with a narrow road win at Denver."The New England Patriots are inching their way back to the top. The Patriots moved two spots to No. 2 after their 43-40 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs."Death. Taxes. Patriots," said Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. The Chiefs slipped a spot to No. 3 after their first loss of the season. The Chiefs will host the Cincinnati Bengals in their second consecutive Sunday night matchup. The Bengals dropped three spots to No. 8 after their 28-21 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers, who have won two in a row, climbed three spots to No. 9 as they enter their bye week. The New Orleans Saints, coming off their bye week, fell a spot to No. 4. They return to action this week against the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens jumped four spots to No. 6 after their 21-0 rout of the Tennessee Titans, in which they had a franchise-record 11 sacks."The Ravens play serious defense, which is a rarity in the new-age NFL," said Ira Kaufman of Fox 13 in Tampa, Florida.Another team making a big climb was the Los Angeles Chargers, who moved six spots to No. 5 after routing the Cleveland Browns 38-14. The Chargers face the Titans in London for a game at Wembley Stadium. The Minnesota Vikings moved up two spots to No. 7 after topping the Arizona Cardinals. The defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles jumped five places to round out the top 10."(Carson) Wentz getting stronger," Fox Sports' John Czarnecki said.Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks: Opponent scouting report This week’s trip to CenturyLink Field in Seattle doesn’t quite feel like it used to. The Seahawks are no longer one of the league’s premier teams, but still they remain a semi-dangerous divisional road test , and they aren’t without weapons.OffenseTraditionally the Rams have had tons of success punishing quarterback Russell Wilson. It will be interesting to see if the Rams new interior-centric pass rush is able to feast the way previous Rams defenses did. Seattle’s offensive line has played better than they did in recent seasons. Their strength lies in the interior with guards Ethan Pocic and DJ Fluker, but will it be enough to semi-neutralize Aaron Donald, Ndamukong Suh, and Michael Brockers? Most likely, the answer is not much. Russell Wilson will need to unload the ball quicker than he usually does, which could pose a issue for Seattle since Wilson has enjoyed greater success on slower developing plays so far this season. Seattle has capable receivers in Doug Baldwin, Tyler Lockett, and Jaron Brown. So far, under offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer (eek!) Seattle has run an ultra conservative offense, last week only throwing a single pass over 20 yards. The Seahawks have gone to the ground game in recent weeks and have gotten 100-yard efforts from both Chris Carson and Mike Davis. Unlike the Rams zone blocking schemes the Seahawks have been pounding the ball up the gut. If they are able to continue their success on the ground this weekend, that could potentially set up some play action for Wilson, if Schottenheimer is willing to pull the trigger.DefenseDespite high profile departures and injuries, Seattle’s defense remains a strength. They are currently ranked seventh in yards allowed, and ninth in points surrendered. The Seahawks pass defense has been stingy, only allowing 204.2 yards a game through the air (fifth in the league) Womens John Sullivan Jersey , and are fourth in the league in opponent’s passer rating, 77.2. With the loss of Earl Thomas to a leg injury last week, it will be a challenge for the Seahawks to continue their success against the Rams aggressive passing attack. However the Seahawks still have plenty of talent at the safety positions with Bradley McDugald, Tedric Thompson, and Delano Hill. Also worth noting is that the Seahawks overall secondary depth should help them avoid compromising mismatches against the Rams receivers, as was the case when the Rams continuously torched Vikings’ linebacker Anthony Barr last week. Look for Seattle’s slot defender Justin Coleman to end up guarding Cooper Kupp often on Sunday.Seattle has talent up front, but their run defense has allowed 122.5 yards per game. Look for the Rams to use Todd Gurley to set up their passing attack this week earlier than they have in other games this season. Another matchup to watch will be Andrew Whitworth vs defensive end Frank Clark. If Clark can’t disrupt Jared Goff, Seahawks corners Shaquill Griffin and rookie Tre Flowers may end up getting taken to school by receivers Brandin Cooks and Robert Woods. What will happen? The Seahawks have elements that could disrupt the Rams, and Pete Carroll teams have been knows to elevate their game against elite opponents, but they will need a near perfect effort to end up outscoring this Rams team. It seems unlikely that the Seahawks will get this one, but as always with division games, pay attention. There’s no doubt the Seahawks have been thinking about this matchup since they were embarrassed by the Rams at home last December.

Before you lock in those starting rosters for Week 2 , we’re going to give you some extra information about who to sit and start this week in fantasy. My best advice through Week 1 in fantasy football is to not overreact. We see it all the time. People panic because they were betting on a bounce back from a particular player (like Amari Cooper or Sammy Watkins) and they were sorely let down. But it’s Week 1! Some players just run into tough opening matchups and a lot of these squads are far from what they will be come October and November. Be patient. Starting 0-1 doesn’t eliminate you from the playoffs. Now, let’s take a look at these NFC North matchups. Once again we have three games for four teams. StartsKenny Golladay, WRLions @ 49ersFirstly, I want to apologize for last week in suggesting Matthew Stafford as a start. He was horrible. However, his receivers still ate. Golladay and Golden Tate were the main beneficiaries of the Lions’ need to sling it all over the field after they were down early. Golladay saw 12 targets and brought in seven catches for 114 yards. A big wideout, Golladay was an agile route runner and worked the middle of the field effectively. Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs had solid days against the Niners last week and I expect Golladay to continue improving.Davante Adams, WRVikings @ PackersI mentioned in a fantasy reaction piece that Adams should still be a solid play against a tough Vikings secondary. Adams managed to put together a solid day last season in his only game against the Vikings, which saw Brett Hundley playing much of the game. As we saw last week against the Bears, Rodgers drifted towards those he is familiar with in mounting their comeback. I expect this game to be either a back-and-forth battle or an instance where the Packers have to battle back into the game and, therefore Womens Antonio Morrison Jersey , get targets to Adams. (Keep an eye on his injury status, though.)Allen Robinson II, WRSeahawks @ BearsI guess I kind of accurately said to sit Robinson last week? It’s not that he looked bad, but the Bears ended up stalling offensively as they watched Rodgers go Super Saiyan. Robinson was averaging just over 15 yards per catch, but ended up being limited to four catches. The hope here is that Mitchell Trubisky has more confidence to let it rip. Having a game in front of their home crowd could be helpful. Dalvin Cook, RBVikings @ PackersCook should be a consistent start from here on out. He wasn’t limited in anyway coming off an ACL tear and should see the bulk of the work on the Vikings. He wasn’t as effective on the ground, but made up for it through the passing game bringing in six catches for 55 yards on seven targets. According to Football Outsiders, the Packers were 20th in DVOA against running backs in the passing game last week. SitsTaylor Gabriel, WRSeahawks @ BearsTough to find a ‘sit’ in this game because I think the Bears offense has the potential to continue improvement. In order to make my Robinson start look better, I’m going to say Gabriel takes a step back. While he had five targets and looked good in spots against the Packers , he brought in all those targets for a weak 25 yards. As a deep threat target, that five yards per catch average feels off. Geronimo Allison, WRVikings @ PackersI think Allison’s upside as a flex option is largely dependent on scoring a touchdown this week. Per Football Outsiders, Minnesota is was #1 against “Other WR” in Week 1. So, assuming Allison is the third receiver behind Adams and Randall Cobb, it could be a tough day for Allison getting open. He has potential in deeper leagues, but I’m not sure he repeats his fantasy output from last week. Theo Riddick, RBLions @ NinersWhile LeGarrette Blount suffered a knee injury in Week 1, the distribution of running back touches didn’t clear up very well. Riddick had four carries for 20 yards and five catches for 15 yards, while rookie Kerryon Johnson had five carries for 17 yards and three catches for 20 yards. A fairly split number of touches makes me want to stay away from this backfield in Week 2 Color Rush Kentrell Brice Jersey , but also I think the door is open more for the rookie to start getting the chance to be the primary back.Packers at Raiders, Preseason 2018: First half game updates & discussion If you thought seeing Jordy Nelson in black and silver was weird before, you ain’t seen nothing yet. The former Green Bay Packers wide receiver was released this offseason and signed with the Oakland Raiders, taking him away from his longtime quarterback and good friend Aaron Rodgers. Nelson entered the NFL in Rodgers’ first year as the Packers’ starter, and the two had an impressive ten-year stretch together in Green Bay.Fittingly, Nelson’s new and old teams drew a preseason matchup against one another in the preseason, meaning that their reunion will take place tonight. Of course, with a storyline like that, it’s no surprise that NFL Network is televising the game nationally (or at least they are televising most of it, as they will show the broadcast starting a half-hour after kickoff. Now Youth Aaron Rodgers Jersey , Nelson has a younger California-native quarterback throwing him the football, as Derek Carr enters his fifth year in the NFL with inconsistent results. Look for Carr and Nelson to play some tonight, but Rodgers and the Packers’ starters are not expected to see any game action. Instead, we’ll watch closely to see if DeShone Kizer gets any playing time ahead of Brett Hundley tonight.Check out our game primer to get ready, tune in, and keep it locked here at APC as we follow along with tonight’s exhibition contest.Game Updates from APC StaffA Twitter List by acmepackingco Game Updates from Packers MediaA Twitter List by TexWestern

The 2-1 Bengals will be facing off against the 1-2 Falcons in Atlanta this week. Cincinnati is trying to get back to their winning ways, but Matt Ryan has Atlanta’s offense firing on all cylinders. It is the Falcons defense that has been giving the team troubles. The Bengals’ defense hasn’t been much better, so this could quickly turn into a shootout. How do the experts and oddsmakers see this one working out though?OddsThe Bengals are currently four-point underdogs to the Falcons, according to Bovada. The Falcons opened up as 5.5-point favorites, so clearly oddsmakers are coming are coming around on the Bengals as the game gets closer. Most of that probably has to do with A.J. Green likely playing. The over/under is sitting at 53.5 points. That is pretty high, but then again the games the Bengals have played in have all gone over that but one when each team only combined for 52 points. Cincinnati has to be use to having to prove themselves at this point. They haven’t made the playoffs in two seasons, and if they hope to change that they will have to beat teams like the Falcons.Bengals A.J. Green had a monstrous, yet quiet afternoon The Bengals’ defense scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns during Cincinnati’s thrilling 27-17 win over Miami Cheap Andy Dalton Jersey , concluding an epic comeback that began with a 17-point deficit and ended with a run of 27 unanswered points. When you build a highlight reel, or write an epic narrative, Michael Johnson’s pick-six and Sam Hubbard’s fumble return for a touchdown (lest we not forget Carlos Dunlap) take the prize. Obviously. In the meantime, A.J. Green had a peaceful afternoon in the sense that his production, while great, wasn’t Sunday’s prominent storyline. It might seem strange to us, blue-collar mortals who extract joy from a violent game. With attention focused on the excitement of Cincinnati’s defense, Green was able to enjoy being the background vocals at a heavy metal concert. Don’t get me wrong. If not for Green, the Bengals don’t win. He stretched the field, curled around intermediary routes, glided with back-shoulder routes, enjoying his role from the slot but resuming his distant relationship from the edges. At the end of the day Cheap Geno Atkins Jersey , Green posted 112 yards receiving, converted several third downs during scoring drives, and in the middle of it all, reached an impressive milestone. Prior to the game, Chad Johnson and Green were tied for the franchise lead with 31 100-yard career games. Let’s compare how quickly they achieved that milestone:Johnson reached his 31st 100-yard game on his 143rd career game at 32 years and 288 days old.Green reached his 31st 100-yard game on his 95th career game at 29 years and 104 days old. When Green recorded a 15-yard reception with 5:09 remaining in the fourth quarter, he surpassed Johnson for most 100-yard performances in franchise history. “It’s unbelievable, it’s another humbling achievement. Chad was one of the best, and I’m just trying to live up to it,” Green said after the game. “He’s had so many big games here and so, it’s one of the records he’s going to have,” Dalton said of Green after the game. “I feel like he’s going to have a ton of records here. I’ve just got to allow him to break these records. He’s so good, and I’m very thankful that I’ve had him my whole career.” Green humbly played down his touchdown from Sunday’s win.“It was just another option route Youth Tyler Boyd Jersey ,” Green added, reflecting on the play. “It’s hard to double me when I’m in the slot. Andy threw me a great ball.”In the meantime, the Bengals needed to win a football game and significant moments featured Green. The Bengals, facing a 17-point deficit, have third-and-seven from their own 28-yard line with 8:09 remaining in the third. They need a spark, a trigger, but most importantly, they need to sustain a drive to feed the Gods of momentum.Green, enjoying his role from the slot, sprints about 17 yards with an eye toward Dalton. After his quarterback releases the pass, Green positions himself against rookie Minkah Fitzpatrick for the back-shoulder throw. The 22-yard reception leads to a first down. A few plays later, Randy Bullock crushes a 51-yard field goal with 5:12 remaining in the third. This was the moment momentum began shifting Andy Dalton Jersey , according to Green. “When we drove down the field for the field goal for our first points. That was big.”Fast-forward to the 2:54 mark in the third. Cincinnati has third-and-10 from its own 29-yard line. At this point, Dalton has only completed two of five on third down, generating 18 yards with an interception (that pesky red zone pick early in the first quarter). This writer wouldn’t have blamed you if pessimism clouded your heart. Dalton, under intense pressure, scrambles. The crafty veteran quarterback surveys the field and finds his most trusted companion; Green is running a deep cross around the Bengals’ 48-yard line. The eighth-year receiver hauls the football in and leans forward for a 21-yard gain. First down!Cincinnati would drive an additional 32 yards before Joe Mixon’s 18-yard touchdown reception, reducing Miami’s lead to a touchdown.Green didn’t have a headline-caliber afternoon, but without his contributions, the Bengals do not win.

The Los Angeles Rams (4-0) start their three game road stretch against the Seattle Seahawks (2-2) in Week 5. Winning at the Clink is never an easy task , but the Seahawks are hurting on defenses, and will be without several key starters on Sunday. Can the Rams exploit a depleted Seahawks defense and move to 5-0 on the year? The Turf Show Times’ staff make their predictions:go rams (@AndrewKulick)No letdownsPrediction: Rams win, 49-10RamBuck (@lannyosu)This feels like a little bit of a trap game: Earl Thomas is out, K.J. Wright is out, the OL can’t block, Pete Carroll is under fire, the fanbase is turning on them, etc. However, this will be at the CLink, with Russell Wilson still a top 10 QB, so we cannot assume it’s going to be an easy game. However, I just don’t see how the Rams’ offense can be stopped right now. Maybe if Goff has to throw left-handed?Prediction: Rams win, 42-27Eddie Perez (@iAmEddieP_)Rams face off against divisional foe Seattle Seahawks. Unlike years past, the Rams will utterly manhandle this entire game. The Seahawks are a mess. Give McBae & the Boys the W.Prediction: Rams win, 45-9Michael Frank (@turfshowtimesmike)Only two things I can believe that would make this game close are Seattle QB Russell Wilson and the Rams taking it easy. From the vibe of Rams DT Michael Brockers and the team it does not seem the Rams take their foot off the peddle on this one. Seattle is in a world win of hurt this season especially after losing their Last Legion of Boom Player in Earl Thomas, Seattle’s talent pool is so low that any scheme they draw up will have to be “Annexation of Puerto Rico” type plays. Only team that can beat the Rams are the Rams.Prediction: Rams win, 38-17Tevin Broner (@T_Bron)I think this game is going to be closer than people expect. The Seahawks are at home and this is basically their early statement game. I could see them attempting to run the ball a lot. Hopefully it’s a blowout win but that seems too easy, especially with the ass-whooping the Seahawks got in their home last year.Prediction: Rams win, 21-17Charlie Hiller (@CharlieHiller)Prayers up for Russell Wilson.Prediction: Rams win, 41-13Eric Nagel (@Eric_nagel)The Seahawks defense is a little better than they are given credit for, but losing Earl Thomas is going to hurt the secondary. I think the Rams are on a roll and the offense is just too talented to stop. Also, if there was ever a time to get the sack game going, this is it.Prediction: Rams win, 31-20Skye Sverdlin (@skyeattolah)It’s a divisional matchup, anything can happen in the NFL, yada The Seahawks are just too depleted to compete for more than a quarter or so this week. The Rams love road trips and will be kicking their feet (hooves) up on the Pete Carroll’s coffee table this week. Prediction: Rams win, 37-16Elijah Kim (@Big_EZK)The Rams look to again to best their scoring output for the 5th week in the row. After scoring, 33, 34, 35, and 38 points in consecutive weeks this season Youth Andrew Whitworth Jersey , perhaps the Rams look to break 40 points against the Seattle Seahawks, who are now without their best defensive player in S Earl Thomas. After Jared Goff torched the Minnesota Vikings defense last week for 465 yards, the “system QB” looks to build on his strong season. The Rams win big and hold a tighter vice grip on the NFC West.Prediction: Rams win, 41-24kristianramirez (@kristianramirez)The Seahawks are not having a good time this season, and it’s about to get worse. The Rams hype train is stopping in Seattle this Sunday, and they are going to steamroll the Seachickens. Buckle up Rams Fans, it’s going to get real quiet in CenturyLink Field.Prediction: Rams win, 45-9Hotdaddywags (@hotdaddywags)Last year’s 42-7 dismantling of the Seahawks was probably the most thorough beatdown I’ve ever seen in person. Todd Gurley’s house call at the end of the first half left me feeling almost embarrassed for the inebriated and incredulous 12th man. No Thomas, no Kendricks, no KJ and a balky Baldwin and this Hawks team is arguably worse than the one we faced last year. No, you can’t and should never take a proud NFC west rival for granted in their building, but this one’s going to be a bloodbath birdbath. The Rams are firing on all cylinders, and the Seahawks are a Yugo puttering around the streets of San Francisco.Prediction: Rams win, 44-17Brennan Smith (@BrennanJSmith)This is a bizarre new NFL world we live in where the Seahawks roster has gradually become un-intimidating. Bobby Wagner and Russell Wilson are both still extremely talented and can’t be taken lightly, but the other 51 players on game day are collectively a rung below what the Rams roster consists of. The defensive front seven finally had some measurable success against Minnesota and should be able to bully the Hawks’ offensive line and keep Wilson uncomfortable. On the other side of the ball, losing Earl Thomas is a massive blow to Seattle’s hopes of containing the wide receiver hydra of Cooks, Kupp and Woods. The Rams roll in this one.Prediction: Rams win, 35-17Sosa Kremenjas (@QBsMVP)I think this is going to be a blowout. The Rams are way too talented and hot to allow the Seahawks to give them major trouble. I expect Todd Gurley to have a massive day (200+ yards from scrimmage, three touchdowns) and Jared Goff continues his trek to attempting to become the leagues MVP with another 350-yard performance. And oh yeah, that #99, he’ll end the day with three sacks and the defense will allow less than 18 points.Prediction: Rams win, 42-17seattlerams (@seattlerams_nfl)The player generating the most attention in Seattle these days is rookie punter, Michael Dickson. In this respect, I expect the 12’s will have plenty to cheer about in this game. What else is there left to say about this game? The Rams have Sean McVay and the Seahawks don’t.Prediction: Rams win, 34-17joeyaucoin (@LARamsRamsRams)I believe in the Rams so hard right now that I want nothing to do with any hate if I don’t show my faith “enough.” That being said, Rams won’t play perfect against the Seahawks, but it will be enough. It’s our Monday morning afternoon column Authentic Justin Houston Jersey , The Re-Up. In this column, I’ll write about some deeper thought I had about the last game and finish with some fun stuff to ponder at the article’s end. Check out last week’s column here.Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY SportsYou could be the finest football analyst in the entire world. You could be a statistical nerd, you could be a former player. Hell, you could be a widely-respected name such as Peter King or John Madden.Regardless of who you are, what you have done or what you do, it is a nearly impossible task to correctly evaluate NFL teams prior to the beginning of the regular season. Now, I’ve only been doing this for five seasons (so what do I know, really?), but I have found that in a way, figuring out who teams are feels similar to watching a murder-mystery sitcom. Each game is an episode, and each episode provides clues to an eventual answer—Sunday, in my opinion, gave us two. Going into Sunday (using clues from the season’s first four episodes), I felt sure that if Patrick Mahomes threw more interceptions than touchdowns in any game this season, the Chiefs would lose, their defensive unit just not good enough.Sunday’s effort—one that included 12 passes defensed, 11 quarterback hits, five sacks, four interceptions and one forced fumble and recovery out of the Chiefs defense—proved me very wrong. And that was the first new clue I took away from Sunday. In case you were under a rock Sunday missed the game, it was the Chiefs’ best defensive player of 2018, Dee Ford, who forced Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles to fumble immediately after Mahomes threw his first interception of the season. “It shows what kind of team we are in every phase of the game,” Mahomes said, when asked what it means for Ford to have been making those types of plays all year long. “We can win games with everyone on this team. It’s not just the offense, it’s not just the defense, it’s not just special teams. We’re a unit and we believe that. I’m excited to just come out with a win like that where the defense just stepped up and made a ton of plays and gave us chance to make plays.”Cornerback Orlando Scandrick, who replaced David Amerson in the final hour of the preseason and has been the media scapegoat for an underwhelming Chiefs secondary, had his best game of the season. He used the game as a means to make a statement, both on the field and off.“We’re physical,” Scandrick said. “I don’t think they’re physical. I think they want to pretend they’re physical when everything is going good. But I think we’re a really physical team. I think we played a physical style of defense.”As you can tell Womens Cameron Erving Jersey , Scandrick didn’t take too kindly to how the Jaguars chose to play the game. As is obvious by their ejections, neither did Ford nor defensive lineman Chris Jones—two players who are as mellow off the field as you’ll find ejected because of their emotional responses to the Jaguars. With Jacksonville pushing and talking trash, according to the Chiefs, Ford took two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, and Jones was ejected for punching an opposing player’s leg during an extra point.Running back Kareem Hunt was also flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct for bumping helmets with Jacksonville linebacker Telvin Smith, who was no longer smiling on Sunday. As expected, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid did not approve of the ejections, but as you can infer from his statement after the game, he welcomed the message of it all with open arms.Read closely.“When two good football teams play each other, you can’t let the emotions get to you,” Reid explained. “[Jacksonville] is a team that is going to come in and be physical and try to push you around in your own place. You can’t do that either. You have to put your foot down and do it the right way. We have to learn from that. You surely cannot be ejected from the game, that’s not smart football. That’s a lesson you can learn. First of all, no one’s going to push us around, anywhere, but also be smart about it.”I have become accustomed to the coach-speak in Reid, so I appreciate those moments when he goes off-script.“No one’s going to push us around, anywhere,” could be as off-script as it gets for Reid, and that was our second clue from Sunday. This idea that the Chiefs have a we-belong-here mentality about them is new and perhaps one they didn’t have last year, when they struggled after beginning the season 5-0, and later blew an 18-point team to what I feel was a worse team in the playoffs. So, to review, our two new clues from Sunday as to the Chiefs’ identity are:1) A defense that has it in it to will the team to victory, even when Mahomes faces adversity.2) A united front that will show toughness and grit (previously unseen) when necessary. Both items heighten that feeling that maybe this year could truly be different.STAT OF THE GAMEThis week’s stat comes from The Athletic’s Lindsay Jones:In 2018, the Chiefs have outscored opponents 59-9 in the first quarter. That means you should get to the Sunday Night Football watch party early.GIF OF THE GAMETWEET(s) OF THE GAMEFIVE QUOTES1. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes on the two interceptions not really getting to him: “I think it goes back to college and then to Coach (Andy) Reid. You can’t let that stuff bother you. He says that in football you have to have a short memory, especially when you play the quarterback positon. Like he said, the defense got the ball right back to us and we just tried to go down there and put points on the board.”2. Andy Reid on the Jacksonville Jaguars:“This is a good football team that was here today. There’s a chance we will meet them down the road. They’re physical, they are emotional, they are going to come after you and let you know they’re out there, verbally and physically. They’ve been there Authentic Kareem Hunt Jersey , they were in the championship game last year. It’s an important win, but we are talking about the fifth game of the season. There’s a lot of season left. We have an opportunity to play a good football team again this week. You have to go back through the process, learn from your mistakes to get yourself better and that’s what we will do. If you just keep the score zero to zero and keep working hard, you will be okay.” 3. Wide receiver Chris Conley on what the Chiefs’ defensive effort means for the season: “I think that this team, the sky is the limit for this team as evidenced today. I don’t put more pressure on the defense this week than any previous week. I think they just executed and were able to finish as a team. When you do that, I think this team can be pretty dangerous.”4. Center Mitch Morse on what’s different about this year’s 5-0 as compared to last year’s 5-0 team: “I think we definitely have our head on our shoulders. Not that we didn’t last year, but we definitely know a team has a lot of factors. It’s just being efficient, coming to work with a purpose and fighting for each other.”5. Safety Jordan Lucas on his interception and the game as a whole: “It was just a great feeling. My celebration was for my fianc茅 and for my son on the way. If you noticed, I was cradling the ball, gave it a kiss and did my little signature drop. The energy was at an all-time high. If we can play like that week-in, week-out and not ride the waves during the game, we’ve got a chance to do something special here.”THE BIG THOUGHTAs the Chiefs shift gears from the Jaguars to the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football, I wanted to share this quote from Tom Brady from Monday, per Pro Football Talk and WEEI:I think that maybe, just maybe, we have reached the point at 5-0 that the Chiefs, especially when it comes to the offense, are earning complete (also known as “non-Schrager”) national respect and attention. And if they don’t have it yet, they undoubtedly will with a win on Sunday night.POLL OF THE WEEKArrowheadlines: Andy Reid and Chiefs projected to “trail early” this season The latest2018 NFL predictions: Here’s how every division will shake out, with a surprise Super Bowl champ | CBS SportsHow an Explosion in Offensive Coordinator Turnover Will Affect Each NFL Team | The RingerNew tailgating policy draws flags from Chiefs fans | Kansas City Business JournalChiefs’ Steven Nelson not panicked over preseason struggles by secondary | The Wichita EagleFinal 53: Offensive players likely to make Chiefs’ roster | 41 KSHBYahoo’s 2018 Bold Fantasy Football Predictions: Saquon to extend rookie RB streak | Yahoo! Mike McCarthy likes to say you are what your record says you are. Right now Color Rush Lane Taylor Jersey , the Packers’ record says they’re a pretty average team. But hope springs eternal, and with just three weeks between the Packers and some suddenly much-needed R&R, we’re taking a second to predict what the Packers’ record will say they are in just under a month’s time. Here’s what our writers had to say.Shawn Wagner: 4-1-1This Packers team is too talented to continue playing at the slow-starting, sloppy level it has for the majority of the season. It also helps to have two more home games in this three-game stretch. If two straight weeks of sub-standard play isn’t enough motivation to turn things around, I don’t know what is. Offensively, Green Bay has shot itself in the foot with penalties and drops and needs to get back to the same rhythm it had when Aaron Rodgers was forced to get the ball out quickly in the second half of the Chicago game. Since the first half against Minnesota, the Packers have gotten away from what has made them successful and made too many mental errors. Making small adjustments while utilizing Aaron Jones at a higher rate should significantly aid the offense. Facing three excellent defenses is a tough task in the first three weeks of the season and it should get a little easier going forward.Plain and simple, the Packers’ defense also needs to get off to better starts. With a week to prepare for Josh Allen, I’m hopeful he will be more contained by Green Bay than he was in Minnesota last week. Prior to his emergence, the Bills’ offense was downright awful. With the Lions’ offense still finding its way and San Francisco losing Jimmy Garoppolo, the Packers have some favorable matchups the next three weeks. Heading into the bye at 4-1-1 is certainly feasible, though I expect some close games in typical Packers fashion.Bob Fitch: 3-2-1While I’d agree with Shawn that this team is too talented to be playing at their current mediocre level, I think they drop a game that is otherwise very winnable.I think that their offense will get rolling with just a few corrections and play calling adjustments, and that the defense will not be as passive in the first half of football games. The upcoming game against the Bills, at the outset of the season, looked like a trap game. After dropping the game against Washington and the Bills completing the largest upset in modern history, I certainly hope Green Bay doesn’t overlook Buffalo Jaire Alexander Jersey , as they aren’t talented enough to do so and expect to win.I’m predicting a comfortable win here, as Pettine will confuse the rookie quarterback Allen and cause a couple of turnovers. The Lions game, at Detroit, is where I’m predicting a loss.Aaron Rodgers split games against the Lions in 2014 and 2015, while narrowly winning both games in 2016 (let’s all agree to forget about last year in general). I think there’s another split in their matchups this year, and, depending on the Bills game, might not have shaken off their early-game problems yet.San Francisco isn’t there yet collectively as a team, especially on defense, and losing Jimmy G only dampened their chances to field a good team this year.Barring any big setbacks, this game is easily winnable and Green Bay does just that at home in prime time to build a bit of momentum heading into the bye week.Paul Noonan: 3-2-1I suspect they drop a game that they have no business losing, and I suspect that happens a lot this season. I’d bet on the Lions, but given what the Bills just did to the Vikings it could be any team. The Packers’ offense will continue to be maddening, and with the offensive line in rough shape, Rodgers is either going to have to return to his quick-hitting ways, or he may find himself hurt yet again.I have more confidence in Pettine’s defense righting the ship with the addition of Breeland and the subtraction of House, but the loss of Wilkerson hurts. The bigger problem with the defense is just a problem with the NFL generally in the the best way to play defense at this point is to generate a holding penalty Authentic Josh Jackson Jersey , and to not get flagged yourself. That level of randomness driven by the increase in flags this season makes predicting a defense nearly impossible. Without the call on Matthews in the Viking’s game, Kirk Cousins’ has terrible stats on the season. If several call flip in last week’s game, the Packers probably win, and Rodgers has elite stats. The Packers may be good, but they’re not good enough to overcome the garbage inflicted on the league by the NFL, and so the most likely scenario going forward is a .500 team, or close to it.Jon Meerdink: 4-1-1Three weeks in, we’re still learning about this year’s version of the NFL. Teams are still growing into their identities, and even almost a month into the season, it’s hard to get a firm read on a given squad. The Packers are pretty emblematic of this idea. In a given quarter, their offense could look like an unstoppable juggernaut or a machine designed to generate three-and-outs. From one half to the next, the defense swings from suffocating to sieve-like. On any play, the special teams unit could produce a towering punt by JK Scott or a pass to Mason Crosby. But fortunately, the Packers’ opponents between now and the bye week are nearly just as undefined. Josh Allen looked like a world beater last week but completed 55% of his passes the week prior. The 49ers just lost their starting quarterback. The Lions are the Lions. If the Packers are going to break out of their 1-1-1 stupor and put together a string of good games, now is as good a time as any. They may be due for a run of good play, and as well all know, feeling like you’re due for success is a sure indicator of your chances going forward.Evan “Tex” Western: 4-1-1I’ll be an optimist here and say that I feel good about the Packers rebounding from their abysmal performance in Washington. That game was in the Packers’ grasp Youth Jamaal Williams Jersey , both literally and figuratively; if not for a series of bad drops on third or fourth downs and a late fumble, the offense is in position to sustain several drives and stay very much in a competitive game. Furthermore, the defense has had stretches of exceptional play, showing the potential in Mike Pettine’s unit. While nobody will overlook the Bills after their drubbing of Minnesota, I expect a bit of a letdown from them this week at Lambeau, while the Packers should be out for blood after last Sunday’s loss. Detroit may have beaten the Patriots last week, but Aaron Jones and company should be able to run all over their defense. And San Francisco seems like a different team without Jimmy G at the helm, and the Packers will want to go into the bye on a high note. Before the season, 5-1 was seen as a reasonable goal for this first stretch. The Packers can’t quite get there now, but they can very feasibly end up a half-game behind that pace.Mike Vieth: 4-1-1I think the Packers fell victim of the classic letdown game against Washington because of very emotional games against their two biggest rivals to start the season. Their performance against Washington did worry me though because I think it showed they aren’t as good as I had thought going into the season. They had a tough schedule going into the year and I was figuring they’d win 10 maybe 11 games at best. A loss to Washington wasn’t expected and that makes these next three games extremely big and almost must win games.I say they will win their next three more because they need to bounce back and treat them do or die. Buffalo, Detroit and San Francisco, especially without Jimmy G, all have inferior talent and the Packers need these wins if they want a shot at the playoffs. While some may say how can they be must wins already, just look at what they have after the bye: the Rams, Patriots, Dolphins, Seahawks and the Vikings for their next five. That’s a buzzsaw of teams and all but Miami , who is 3-0 by the way, are on the road. That is an extremely tough stretch and are not going to be easy games. So, expect a big bounce back the next few weeks. These next three are vital to the Packers playoff hopes and without a three victories, we may find the Packers on the outside looking in when in comes to the playoffs.APC Podcast, 8/29: Aaron Rodgers extended, Brett Hundley upended We’ve called an emergency session to talk about big breaking news in Green Bay Packer land. Matchup Of The Game: Bengals Seek To Protect Green pasturesEver since Green caught a 51-yard Hail Mary touchdown to tie the 2013 game in Baltimore on the final snap of regulation Andy Dalton Jersey , he has bedeviled the Ravens, usually in Baltimore and usually in the fourth quarter but the Bengals won’t mind if he takes over Thursday night’s Paul Brown Stadium opener (8:20 p.m.-Cincinnati’s Channel 12) at any point. What's New at Bengals Games in 2018The Bengals are enhancing the game day atmosphere with a revamped Jungle Zone pregame tailgate party and new food lineup at games this season. To improve entry into the stadium, fans have a new mobile ticketing option and express entry lanes are available for fans who do not bring a bag to the game. Once inside the stadium, fans will watch the Bengals play on a new synthetic turf field that was installed in May.Ravens vs. Bengals odds: 'Thursday Night Football' picks, predictions from expert who's 13-4 on Cincinnati gamesWhite, one of SportsLine's most proficient NFL prognosticators, cashed big last season in the world's most prestigious handicapping tournament, the Westgate Las Vegas SuperContest, tying for 18th out of 2,748 contestants with a 52-29-4 mark against the spread. It wasn't a fluke, either, as he also drove deep in 2015. Anyone who has followed his advice is up big.Ravens seek to avenge season-ending loss to BengalsThe last time the Baltimore Ravens saw the Cincinnati Bengals, Andy Dalton and Tyler Boyd turned fourth-and-12 into a 49-yard touchdown in the final minute of Week 17, sending the Ravens home for January and upstate New York into a frenzy as Baltimore coughed up the AFC’s final wild-card spot to the Buffalo Bills.Random BytesReport Card Grades for NFL's Most Notable Rookie DebutsFront offices spend countless hours vetting Day 1 draft picks, players expected to make immediate impacts. After watching these high-profile rookies during the preseason against backups with basic game plans, we itch to see them perform when the games count.Detroit Lions' Matthew Stafford 'good to go' vs. 49ersMatthew Stafford's ironman streak is in no danger of ending Authentic A.J. Green Jersey , even though he took a pounding in Monday's 48-17 loss to the New York Jets.Stafford briefly left Monday's game in the third quarter after he was sandwiched by two Jets defenders on a pass attempt, and he received medical treatment during the game for a knee injury he suffered in the first half.Report: Martavis Bryant, Raiders Close to 1-Year Contract Amid Suspension RumorsBryant visited Raiders facilities Tuesday to discuss a potential return, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported the two sides are closing in on a one-year contract, adding that Bryant is expected to play in Week 2.Rams’ Pharoh Cooper to miss significant time with ankle injuryPharoh Cooper, the Rams’ Pro Bowl-selection return specialist, apparently suffered a serious ankle injury during the third quarter of Monday’s victory over Oakland. Coach Sean McVay said Tuesday that Cooper will get a second opinion this week but will miss “at least a few weeks” and could require surgery.Deion Jones Placed on IR by Falcons Due to Foot Injury Suffered in Week 1"Following the game last Thursday, Deion reported soreness in his foot, so we sent him for further tests," head coach Dan Quinn said. "We got the results of those tests back today, and he unfortunately will require a procedure that will result in us having to place him on injured reserve. We are bummed for Deion, but we do expect to get him back at some point this season."Report: Lions Players Upset with Matt Patricia over Team Rules, Amount of WorkMike Garafolo of NFL Network revealed he heard some veteran players were not pleased with how hard new head coach Matt Patricia worked them during training camp. They also didn't like how many team rules he put in place: With the Bengals determined to improve an offense that finished last in the league, their new defensive coordinator didn't expect to be very busy during the draft. He wound up getting six of the first eight players picked.Could he have imagined going 6 of 8?"If I was shooting free throws maybe, but not getting defensive players," Teryl Austin said. The Bengals decided they were set for now on offense and turned their draft focus to upgrading a defense that slipped last season. After taking Ohio State center Billy Price with the 21st overall pick Youth William Jackson Jersey , they went defense primarily in the next four rounds. The Bengals' defense finished No. 18 overall last season, including 30th against the run, so they weren't exactly stocking up in an area of strength."We're not sure how different it's going to be until we get them here and see where they fit," Austin said. "That's going to play out over time. Infusing talent always raises the competition level."Some things to note about the Bengals' defense-heavy draft:ANOTHER GIO? Running back Mark Walton from Miami was one of the few offensive players picked, going in the fourth round. Although the Bengals' main focus on offense has been fixing the line, they also needed a running back to replace Jeremy Hill — Joe Mixon and Giovani Bernard return. Walton is 5-foot-10 and reminds the Bengals of Bernard in size and quickness. One big attraction: Walton played on Miami's kickoff and punt coverage teams, so he can fit on special teams immediately.THE REST OF THE CLASS: In the fifth round, Cincinnati took cornerback Davontae Harris from Illinois State, defensive tackle Andrew Brown from Virginia and cornerback Darius Phillips from Western Michigan. The Bengals had no picks in the sixth round. In the seventh, they got quarterback Logan Woodside from Toledo, guard Rod Taylor from Mississippi, and receiver Auden Tate from Florida State.SETTLED AT QB: The Bengals needed another quarterback after backup AJ McCarron left for Buffalo, and there was a question whether they would try to replace him by taking one in the middle of the draft — they got McCarron in the fifth round in 2014.Instead, they signed Matt Barkley to a two-year deal last month and decided they were set at the No. 2 spot, waiting until the seventh round to get an extra quarterback.PAYING ATTENTION: The Bengals will be watching Price closely in the next few months. He had surgery to repair a torn chest muscle after the combine, and he's expected to be ready for the start of training camp. Last year , the Bengals took receiver John Ross in the first round even though he was recovering from shoulder surgery, and it didn't turn out well. He played in only three games before another shoulder injury ended his season.NO PIES: Texas linebacker Malik Jefferson gets free pizza for a year as part of a promotion by an NFL sponsor. Pizza Hut offered free pies to the "Pi Pick" — third round, 14th choice, or 3.14. That was Jefferson. He expected to make an appearance at a local Pizza Hut on Saturday, but it didn't work out."I actually missed the pizza party," Jefferson said. "I don't know how that's going to work. I'm still working that deal out with my marketing agent."O-H: The draft will be remembered locally for the Bengals finally taking some Ohio State players. Even though franchise founder Paul Brown won a national championship at Ohio State, the Bengals had drafted only two Buckeyes in the past 23 years — none higher than the sixth round. Over that same time, they took seven players from Michigan. This year, they took Price and Ohio State defensive end Sam Hubbard in the third round. Price will be practicing across from former Michigan defensive tackle Ryan Glasgow."The rivalry is still part of it," Price said. "He went to the team up north and I went to Ohio State. We will leave it at that. I remember playing him specifically. The last week in November, we will have a little bet."SELLING TICKETS: Bringing Hubbard aboard has already boosted ticket sales. Hubbard grew up in Cincinnati and attended Bengals games regularly."My uncle went down and got season tickets right after he found out I'm going (to the Bengals)," Hubbard said.STILL NEED: Help on the offensive line. They filled the hole at center, but they're still depending upon young players who have yet to prove themselves. Left tackle Cedric Ogbuehi struggled the past two seasons, prompting the Bengals to get left tackle Cordy Glenn from Buffalo. Right tackle Jake Fisher had a procedure to repair an irregular heartbeat during the season. There's still work to be done in their biggest problem area.
